It is the largest convention center of New York City and the twelfth largest in the entire United States. This Convention Center has been a go-to location for many major corporations to conduct their expos and other big events like Comic-Con. Jacob Javits Convention Centre’s Name Sake

The Convention Center is named after the legendary New Yorker, Senator Jacob Koeppel Javits, who had worked as a New York State Attorney General, as a U.S. Congressman and as U.S. Senator. He has served the lively State of New York for more than 30 years. To commemorate him and to continue the ideology of his public service, the Convention Center was given his name with its mission-oriented to his ideology.

Built-in 1986, the design was done by I.M. Pei and partners. The massive glass structure is not only impressive but also versatile enough to accommodate and suit any kind of event. While almost every service is available at a quarter-hour walk from the center, there are many available inside the center itself. There are 2 chase ATMs in case you need some cash. Hungry? There is a food court at Level 1 and Starbucks and Taste NY Bistro in Level 2 for you to grab a quick bite. And most importantly, there is free Wi-Fi!

How to reach Jacob Javits Center?

Even though the center is located on the far west side of Manhattan, the connectivity is pretty good. You can take a bus, subway or a cab to get here. 34 Street- Hudson Yard subway station is the closest subway stop to the Center. When it comes to bus both M34 and M42 stops at Jacob Javits Convention Center. You can always take a taxi if you prefer and there is also Uber and Lyft.

Where to park?

There is no parking space at the Javits Center. So, if you are driving yourself there check out the nearby paid parking spaces beforehand. In case you are going to attend a big event, reserving your parking spot beforehand is highly recommended.
